open your eyes and see the beauty.

So it's October and autumn is officially here. Since I'm one of those summer-loving people it's very important for me to be surrounded by positive people to not get depressed. I guess most of you think I'm exaggerating, but I'm really not. Waking up when it's dark and coming home when it's dark, the cold temperatures, the shitty weather... it wears me out. I put on layer after layer after layer of clothes, mittens AND a warm jacket but I still freeze. The fact that autumn/winter lasts for about six months here doesn't really make it any better.

However, I do live in Sweden and no matter how much I'd just like to skip autumn and go straight to spring, I have to try and make the best out of it. To keep me happy and motivated during this period of the year, I write lists of everything that I find enjoyable about this season. For all of you who are just like me, these fall related things are actually quite lovely:
• Knitted sweaters
• Boots
• Reading books
• Watching movies
• Apple picking
• Pretty colors
• The fresh air
• Scented candles
• Sitting in front of a fireplace
• Halloween (even though I don't celebrate it)
• "Fika" with friends (fika = tea/coffee with cookies, muffins etc.)
• Warm chocolate
• Cosy blankets

Hopefully this will help all of you people who, just like me, feel a bit sad when this season arrives. I must admit that it's hard, but I try to focus on the good stuff because complaining won't do me or anyone in my surroundings any good, nor will it change anything.

I also have a collection of photos and quotes in my phone to keep me inspired and my mood on top. Whenever I feel a bit sad, I look through them and it reminds me of how beautiful life really is. It always puts a smile on my face :)
